Why Arkadian Exists
Most custom-home builders start out as carpenters or tradespeople. Segun Akinrolabu started in Banking, then in Petroleum Geology with Royal Dutch Shell. The technical disciplines gave him an analytical mind and the habit of running long projects against hard deadlines. The family business — his father developed residential and mixed-use Real Estate throughout Segun’s upbringing — gave him an apprenticeship in the craft of building. The two halves eventually met. He began building his own residential projects while still working full time as a Petroleum Geologist, and when the pull became loud enough, he committed completely and founded Arkadian Homes.
Arkadian Homes was built around a specific conviction: the difference between a good builder and a great one isn’t the home itself. It’s how the home is delivered — the clarity of communication during the build, the discipline of holding schedules, the seriousness with which a builder treats the relationship with a client after the keys change hands. Most builders treat handover as the finish line. We treat it as the start.
That conviction shapes how Arkadian Homes is structured. As a Boutique Builder, we bring senior-led project management to every engagement — disciplined coordination, white-glove client service, and an after-care relationship that begins at handover and continues past warranty. If a schedule or cost variable changes, you hear about it from us first, in writing, with the implications spelled out and the options laid out before any decision needs to be made.

3. We bring engineering rigor to scheduling.
Twelve months on the schedule means twelve months on the calendar. Trade sequencing, supplier lead-times, weather buffers, City of Calgary permit windows — every variable is mapped against a critical path before the first shovel goes in. The dates we hand you in week one are the dates we run to in week forty. When something genuinely outside our control shifts the schedule, you’ll know within twenty-four hours.
4. We don’t disappear after handover.
Our relationship with a client extends well past the one-year warranty. We follow up at three months, six months, and twelve months — not because we have to, but because a Calgary winter, a Chinook season, and a summer in your own backyard reveal things a final walkthrough never does. If something needs adjusting, you call us directly. We answer.

Segun Akinrolabu
Segun Akinrolabu’s path into Real Estate Development was not a straight line — but in retrospect, it was an inevitable one. He began his career in Banking, then moved into Petroleum Geology with Royal Dutch Shell, working the technical side of one of the world’s most demanding industries. The two careers gave him a strong analytical foundation, the discipline of running long projects against hard deadlines, and the habit of treating every problem as one to be solved on time and on budget.
But Real Estate had always been the family business. His father developed residential and mixed-use properties throughout Segun’s upbringing, and Segun grew up watching land, drawings, materials, and labour turn into finished homes — and watching the livelihoods that those homes made possible. The pull was always there. He began building his own residential projects while still working full time as a Petroleum Geologist, and eventually committed completely — leaving the energy industry to found Arkadian Homes.
As a Boutique Builder, Arkadian Homes brings senior-led project management, white-glove client service, and after-care that runs past warranty to every engagement. Segun’s conviction is simple: building a well-finished home is the baseline.
